You’re Not Alone in Facing OCD

Living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can feel overwhelming. Unwanted thoughts and repetitive behaviors can take up your time, drain your energy, and make everyday life feel difficult or even unmanageable. If this sounds familiar, please know there is support and hope for a better, calmer way forward. At Mindset Psychiatry and Wellness, I offer compassionate, effective care to help you regain control and peace of mind.

What Is OCD?

OCD is more than just liking things organized or double-checking the door. It involves persistent, intrusive thoughts (called obsessions) that create anxiety, followed by repetitive actions or mental rituals (called compulsions) done to ease that anxiety. These cycles can be exhausting and disruptive, but they are also treatable.

Common Signs of OCD
  • Obsessions: Intrusive thoughts or fears, such as worrying about germs, harm coming to loved ones, or needing things to be “just right.” These thoughts often feel unwanted and hard to control.
  • Compulsions: Repetitive actions like handwashing, checking, counting, or arranging things in specific ways done to reduce anxiety, even if just temporarily.
  • Impact on Daily Life: These patterns can affect your time, focus, work, relationships, and overall well-being.

How I Help You Manage OCD

I take a thoughtful, person-centered approach to OCD care combining evidence-based treatments with supportive guidance tailored to you.

Therapy (ERP – Exposure and Response Prevention)
This specialized form of CBT helps you gradually face distressing thoughts without relying on compulsive behaviors. Over time, ERP can reduce anxiety and help you build confidence in your ability to tolerate discomfort and regain control.

Medication (If Needed)
In some cases, I may recommend commonly used medications that can help reduce obsessive thoughts and ease the urge to perform compulsions. Any decision around medication is made collaboratively and with your comfort in mind.

Emotional Support & Coping Tools
Beyond therapy, I offer support for managing stress, developing resilience, and finding healthier ways to cope so you feel more equipped in daily life.

Holistic Understanding
We may also explore how lifestyle habits, stress levels, and routines contribute to your symptoms. Small changes can sometimes make a big difference.
